How Thayat came to be
Thayat opened in Chiang Mai after its founding team noticed a gap: families dealing with inheritance matters in Thailand often arrived at legal offices feeling lost, having received little preparation for what the process entails. They needed time, not urgency. They needed plain words, not dense legal language.
We set up the practice to fill that gap. Our name, Thayat, draws from the Thai word for heir — a deliberate choice that places the person at the centre of what we do, not the paperwork.
From our office on Mun Muang Road, we have supported heirs across a range of estate matters: straightforward cases with a single beneficiary, more complex situations involving multiple family members, and matters where the estate spans different asset types. In each case, our approach stays the same — we explain what is happening, we handle the formalities carefully, and we keep you informed throughout.
